Colin in Wash DC

Caricature is a small cattery, with all our kittens raised in our home, underfoot and in our laps. We consistently produce National and Regional award winning cats in the Cat Fanciers Association, and we place our cats only in those homes that we know will be the very best for them.

We keep our focus on the well-being of each of our kittens and cats as we promote the Bombay and Burmese breeds in the show world and in happy forever homes.

The Kitten In The Pumpkin Grew Up
Taraji loves to pose!  She is the kitten in the pumpkin.  in 2016, she did a sitting or Bergdorf Goodman, for their catalog.  Here she is, still cute and pretty, but now fashion-forward!

You can see her in the fall catalog
What is prettier than a kitten in a pumpkin?  A grown up Bombay lady modeling a shoe for Bergdorf Goodman's fall catalog.  Here is Taraji contemplating some snazzy footwear...

What is more charming than a Bombay kitten?  A Bombay kitten in a pumpkin asking to be your best friend for Halloween and through the rest of the year!  Here is our own Taraji (Star Academy Taraji of Caricature) who spent the better part of half an hour with a pumpkin (and in a pumpkin!) while the photographers for Real Simple Magazine had fun with her.

Our own Shemar Moore
This beautiful Bombay Boy is Grand Premier (GP) National Winner (NW - twice, in Premiership) Grand of Distinction (which means that for three consecutive seasons he maintained his winning personality and performance) is Caricature's Shemar Moore of Euphoria.  Shemar was born here at Caricature and is proudly owned by his Mom in Pennsylvania.  He is the sweetest-natured fellow you hope to meet, and we just love him to death.  ...he's not sure what he thinks about those shoes, though.  Beautiful, but he doesn't think they will fit him...

Healthy, happy, adorable Burmese and Bombay kittens raised lovingly at home. Call for availability.

We occasionally have "retired" young adult breeding and show cats available. Their ages usually range from ten months to four years. They are spayed or neutered before they leave us. Please contact us for availability.

Who We Are...

We have been a CFA Cattery of Excellence, a designation given those catteries who consistently achieve extraordinarily high standards in the maintenance and operation of their cattery activities and the health and welfare of their cats and kittens. You are encouraged to visit and experience this quality and care first hand.

Caricature is deeply involved in preserving and promoting our breeds.  We are members of the Bombay and the Burmese Breed councils.  One of us was elected by our fellow CFA Bombay breeders to serve three terms as the Bombay Breed Council Secretary.   We also serve as officers of The Bombay Enthusiasts of America breed club, and we are members of The National Alliance of Burmese Breeders breed club.
Robust health, affectionate, purrsonalities, and beauty are the common characteristics of Caricature Cattery cats and kittens.

If you are interested in adopting a Bombay or Burmese, we urge you to arrange visits to catteries that interest you, as we believe it is extremely important to see first-hand where and how your kitten is raised, and meet its parents and entire feline family. We do not ship our cats, and require a visit to our home and feline family before we will consider any potential buyer.

We are located in Connecticut. Please feel free to call us at 203-775-1590 or contact us by email at sharyn0131@gmail.com

Our History...
In April 2004, GC, BW, NW Caricature's Colin Powell, a male Bombay-son of GC RW Caricature's Isaac Hayes, DM and CH Caricature's Jamaica Kincaid, DM (see Awards of Interest page) ended the show year as the highest scoring cat in the CFA. Colin was The Cat Fanciers Association's "2004 Cat of the Year."   Colin was invited to meet Secretary of State Colin Powell. The meeting took place at the State Department in Washington, DC on Friday, August 13, 2004. (See page "Colin in Wash D.C.")
CFA's 2004 Cat of the Year, GC, BW, NW Caricature's Colin Powell, born on the first anniversary of the 911 disaster and named in honor of Secretary of State Colin Powell.
Two Bombays became National Winners in 2004 and both were sired by Caricature's Isaac Hayes. Cats and kittens out of our breeding lines are presently being shown in multiple regions in the USA, Canada, France, Switzerland, Italy, Japan and China by other breeders and exhibitors as well.   This year Caricature sent the first Burmese breeding cat to Hong Kong, the first ever in China.

In the 2004-2005 season, the highest-scoring Bombay in the North Atlantic Region was GC, GP, NW Caricature's Huey P Newton, shown in championship.

In the show season ending in April 2006, GC, BW, RW Caricature's Ralph Bunche was the top-scoring Bombay globally in CFA.  GC, NW Caricature's Marian Anderson became the first Bombay kitten to ever earn a National Win. GC, GP, NW Caricature's Huey P Newton, now shown in Premiership, captured a National win.

The 2007 show season ended with GC, BW, RW Lac Hong Anzo of Caricature as the highest scoring Bombay in CFA.  Anzo is the son of Colin Powell's brother, GC Caricature's Moses Gunn of Lac Hong.  Our Burmese were represented by GC, Caricature's Karishma, the top scoring Burmese in Championship in the North Atlantic region.  Her sister,  GP, RW Caricature's Frida Kahlo, captured the 9th spot in premiership in the North Atlantic region and was the top scoring Burmese in Premiership in the North Atlantic region.

In 2008, for the first time in CFA history, one Bombay cattery produced a National Winner in each of the three CFA showing divisions - Champion, Kitten, Premiership (please see 'Awards of Interest').

The 2009 show season saw some milestones (see 'Cattery News' for the full story).  Caricature's Tiger Woods of Kemage acheived 19th best cat in Premiership.  The 2009 - 2010 season saw our 12th Distinguished Merit cat, and GP, NW Caricature's John Legend attained the spot of 13th highest scoring cat in premiership nationally.

We continue to breed our beautiful companions and show our cats.  Caricature Cattery has produced more than seventy Grand Champions and Grand Premiers to date. We have also "granded" several cats that we obtained from other catteries that were added to our breeding program as out-crosses to strengthen our bloodlines. We have also produced eleven female and one male DM (Distinguished Merit.) cats. (Please see our "Awards of Interest" page on this website.)

Caricature bred the first sable Burmese Cat ever to arrive in Hong Kong and China. You can see his photos on our Cattery News page.

Caricature is very proud of its beautiful cats, and the successes their cats have won in the show rings, but we are even more proud of the generation of healthy, loving, beautiful cats that have graced countless households as happy companions.  Come see some of them.
